JOB DESCRIPTION – BAR MANAGER

Department: Food & Beverage
Position: Bar Manager
Reports To: Operations Manager / General Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the overall operations of the bar and ensure smooth daily functioning.
• Supervise, guide, and train bartenders and bar service staff.
• Ensure excellent guest service and maintain high service standards.
• Monitor bar stock, inventory, requisitions, and daily consumption.
• Ensure proper control of liquor, beverages, mixers, and other bar items.
• Minimize wastage, breakage, and unauthorized consumption.
• Ensure all bar sales, billing, and closing procedures are properly followed.
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, grooming, and presentation standards.
• Prepare staff duty rosters and monitor attendance and discipline.
• Coordinate with Purchase, Accounts, Kitchen, Service, and other departments.
• Handle guest complaints and resolve service issues promptly.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable liquor regulations.
• Conduct regular stock checks and report discrepancies to management.
• Ensure the bar is properly set up before service and closed correctly after operations.
• Monitor staff performance and take corrective action when required.
• Prepare daily reports on sales, stock, shortages, wastage, and operational issues.

Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in bar operations, preferably in a hotel/resort.
• Strong knowledge of beverages, cocktails, bar service, and inventory control.
• Good leadership and team-management skills.
• Good communication and guest-handling skills.
• Knowledge of POS/bar billing systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, weekends, and holidays.
