About the role

Kala Group is seeking an experienced Bar Manager to join our team in Badung, Bali. This is a full-time position that offers a dynamic opportunity to lead and manage all aspects of bar operations within our hospitality establishment. As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience whilst maintaining high standards of service, operational efficiency, and profitability. This role is pivotal in shaping the bar's culture, reputation, and financial performance, directly contributing to the overall success of Kala Group's hospitality objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all daily bar operations, including stock management, ordering, and inventory control to ensure optimal levels of beverages and supplies
• Train, mentor, and supervise bar staff, fostering a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement
• Develop and implement bar menus, including signature cocktails and beverage offerings that align with brand identity and guest preferences
• Manage bar finances, including budgeting, cost control, pricing strategies, and revenue optimisation to maximise profitability
• Ensure compliance with all local regulations, health and safety standards, and responsible beverage service practices
• Maintain superior standards of cleanliness, organisation, and presentation throughout the bar area
• Create engaging guest experiences through exceptional customer service, personalised interactions, and attention to detail
• Monitor and analyse bar performance metrics, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing strategic initiatives
• Collaborate with management and other departments to align bar operations with overall hospitality goals and special events
• Manage scheduling, payroll administration, and human resources matters related to bar staff

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of professional bar management experience in a full-service hospitality or upscale venue setting
• Comprehensive knowledge of spirits, wines, beers, and cocktail preparation techniques with strong mixology expertise
• Proven ability to lead, train, and motivate teams effectively whilst maintaining high service standards
• Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in budgeting, cost control, and revenue management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders
• In-depth understanding of food and beverage industry regulations, health codes, and responsible service of alcohol practices
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and bar management software
• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Indonesian or Mandarin are advantageous
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and composure
• Passion for hospitality and a genuine commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences
