The role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the team at Olivers Bar, as the Bar Manager, and be a senior leader in the front of house team at Olivers in the heart of Clyde, Central Otago. As Bar Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the bar operations, and at times supervising the Restaurant staff, ensuring a consistently high level of customer service and driving profitability. This is a full-time role.

Key responsibilities

• All front of house service in the bar, delivering consistently outstanding service

• Providing your team, and assisting colleagues, with continuous training and development

• Ensuring customer service and satisfaction at all times, maximising sales

• Working with the Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager and Cafe Manager as part of the leadership team to deliver a great product

• Maintaining staff levels and costs to meet business demands and being adaptable and flexible across the various aspects of the business

What we're looking for

• At least 2 years' experience in a similar front-of-house hospitality position, in restaurant and bars

• Excellent leadership, people management and customer service skills

• A good understanding of wine, beer and food

• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

• Thorough understanding of liquor licensing, food safety and other relevant regulations

• Passion for the hospitality industry and delivering an exceptional customer experience

• Duty Manager experience, preferably with a current Managers Certificate
