11th & Social is an independent, late-night cocktail bar in the heart of Norwich, inspired by the energy, character and attitude of New York's bar scene.

We're all about great drinks, good music, genuine hospitality and creating an atmosphere that keeps people coming back.

We're looking for a confident, energetic and commercially minded Bar Manager who can help take the venue to the next level.

This isn't just about making great cocktails. We want someone who can lead a team, build a following, develop the drinks offering and understand what makes a busy bar profitable.

The Role

As Bar Manager, you'll work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of 11th & Social.

You'll be a visible presence behind the bar, setting standards, motivating the team and making sure every guest has a brilliant experience.

You'll have the freedom to bring fresh ideas, influence the drinks offering and help shape the future of the venue.

Key ResponsibilitiesBar Operations & Service

• Lead from the front during busy services, particularly evenings and weekends.
• Maintain consistently high standards of cocktails, drinks presentation and hospitality.
• Ensure the bar is organised, well-stocked and ready for service.
• Oversee opening and closing procedures, cleanliness and equipment maintenance.
• Ensure licensing requirements, Challenge 25 and health and safety standards are followed.

Team Leadership & Development

• Motivate, coach and develop the bar team.
• Deliver regular cocktail, spirits and product knowledge training.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and staff development.
• Build a positive, energetic team culture with accountability and clear standards.
• Work with the General Manager to manage rotas and staffing levels efficiently.

Cocktails, Creativity & Events

• Develop and refresh seasonal cocktail menus.
• Stay ahead of emerging drinks trends, spirits and cocktail culture.
• Work with suppliers to organise tastings, training and brand collaborations.
• Contribute creative ideas for events, promotions and quieter trading nights.
• Help create a distinctive drinks experience that sets 11th & Social apart from other Norwich bars.

Guest Experience

• Create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the personality of 11th & Social.
• Build relationships with regular guests and encourage repeat visits.
• Handle guest feedback and complaints confidently and professionally.
• Work with the team to drive bookings, events and customer loyalty.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

• Previous experience as a Bar Manager, Assistant Bar Manager or senior bartender in a quality cocktail bar or busy hospitality venue.
• Strong cocktail knowledge and excellent practical bartending skills.
• Confidence leading a team during high-volume services.
• Excellent communication skills and a hands-on leadership style.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and late nights.

Desirable:

• Experience developing cocktail menus.
• Knowledge of premium spirits, particularly tequila, whisky and rum.
• Experience delivering events, promotions or brand collaborations.
• Experience working in independent cocktail bars.

You'll be ambitious, organised and full of ideas, but equally happy rolling up your sleeves on a busy Saturday night.
