Bar Manager – The Sirens Calling, Portishead Marina

We are looking for a motivated, hands-on Bar Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day running of the bar, maintain our high standards, and help ensure every customer enjoys a great experience.

The Role

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a similar role and be confident managing the operational aspects of a wet-led venue, including:

• Cellar and cask management – maintaining excellent cellar standards and ensuring quality and consistency across our beer offering.
• Stock management – monitoring stock levels, conducting stocktakes, and minimising waste.
• EPOS systems – confidently using electronic point-of-sale systems and associated reporting tools.
• Cash handling and reporting – maintaining accurate financial records and following cash-handling procedures.
• Team management – leading, supporting, and motivating a small team to deliver excellent service.

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone who is organised, reliable, approachable, and passionate about the licensed trade. You will take pride in your surroundings, understand the importance of quality beer and beverage service, and lead by example. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, colleagues, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Previous bar management experience is required, and professional references will be requested as part of the recruitment process.

Pay: £29,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
