BAR MANAGER (Mandarin Speaking)

About the role

This is a Bar Manager position within a hospitality setting. You will supervise and train bar staff, manage bar operations, and ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service while maintaining compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and train bar staff to ensure consistent delivery of excellent customer service and adherence to company standards
• Manage bar inventory, stock levels and ordering of beverages, spirits, and bar supplies
• Prepare and serve cocktails, spirits, wines and other beverages with precision and creativity
• Maintain strict compliance with health, safety and licensing regulations
• Monitor till operations, cash handling and financial reconciliation on a daily basis
• Create and promote special events, themed nights and promotions to increase revenue and customer engagement
• Ensure the bar area is kept clean, well-organised and visually appealing at all times
• Build and maintain positive relationships with customers to encourage loyalty and repeat business
• Conduct stock takes and manage waste to maximise profitability
• Report on bar performance metrics and provide recommendations for operational improvements

About you

• Proven experience as a Bar Manager or in a senior bar position within a hospitality setting
• Strong knowledge of drinks, cocktails, spirits and wine, with the ability to make recommendations to customers
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic financial management
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused approach
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities efficiently
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations, and responsible alcohol service practices
• Problem-solving ability and a proactive approach to addressing challenges
• Flexibility to work evening, weekend and public holiday shifts as required
• Certification in responsible beverage service or bartending qualifications (preferred)
