Bar Manager - Part Time

Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager to help lead our bar team in a vibrant casual dining environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a comprehensive understanding of bar and kitchen operations. This role involves overseeing daily bar activities, managing staff, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience while maintaining high standards of quality and efficiency.

This is a small restaurant/sports bar concept. We do heavy volume during football season and spring training and spring break. We and need someone who is self-motivated, needs limited direction and takes initiative. This position requires doing whatever it takes to get the job done. Ideal candidate is a go-getter who has some experience in the industry, but really wants to learn all the ins and outs of a restaurant and bar.

MUST KNOW HOW TO BARTEND (will cover shifts, work events, group outings, etc. and get tipped out in addition to salary/hourly rate). Knowing TOAST is a major plus. Need to be able to start ASAP. Weekends required and are Non-Negotiable.

Responsibilities (subject to change)

• Supervise daily bar operations, ensuring smooth service and adherence to company standards.
• Manage staff, including bartenders and servers, fostering a positive team environment.
• Collaborate with the restaurant management team to create innovative drink menus that align with seasonal offerings.
• Oversee liquor inventory management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as responsible alcohol service policies.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints professionally, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
• Be able to work with and communicate with kitchen staff effectively.
• Learn the POS (Toast) and assist bartenders with orders and drinks, if and when necessary.
• Perform all "barback" duties, if and when necessary.
• Learn basic kitchen functions to assist with heavy volume, if and when necessary.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant management or as an Assistant Manager in a similar setting.
• Strong background in supervising staff within a casual dining or bar environment.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests effectively.
• Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques and trends within the industry.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
