Bar Prep/Apprentice @ Lost Whale

Overview

As we gear up for our busy holiday season, come join the Lost Whale team as a Bar Apprentice! In this role, you’ll be learning the technical skills of how we produce our house-made ingredients and batching them for our cocktail program. Your proactive approach will support the bar team in delivering memorable experiences to our guests. This paid position offers a dynamic environment where hospitality meets teamwork, and is a great stepping stone for those wanting to learn how to bartend in a craft cocktail oriented bar.

Duties

• Preparing house-made ingredients from scratch.
• Making cocktail batches, mixes, and kegs for draft cocktails.
• Handling manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies, cleaning materials, and trash disposal safely and efficiently.
• Following food handling and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations during preparation, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
• Keeping track of inventory and proactively maintaining stock levels.

Requirements

• Previous experience in food service or bar environments is preferred and hospitality background is a plus, but not required for the right individual.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with management on inventory needs or the bar.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts
• Experience with food industry standards including bar safety compliance, food handling, and sanitation practices
• Basic math skills for calculating and assembling batch sizes.

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10.0 – 15.0 per week
