Job Summary

South Front Tavern is hiring a Bar Restaurant Host to welcome guests and support smooth front-of-house operations. This role greets customers, manages seating and reservations, communicates with service staff, and helps create a friendly, organized, and enjoyable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests with a friendly and professional attitude
• Manage guest seating, waitlists, and reservations as required
• Provide accurate information about menus, seating, and restaurant services
• Coordinate with servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and management
• Monitor dining and waiting areas to maintain an organized environment
• Assist guests with special seating requests and general service needs
• Communicate estimated wait times and table availability
• Maintain clean and welcoming host and entrance areas
• Assist with opening, closing, and other front-of-house duties
• Follow restaurant, food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures

Requirements

• Previous restaurant, hospitality, bar, or customer service experience is an asset but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Friendly, professional, and customer-focused approach
• Ability to remain organized in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Preferred Skills

• Experience as a restaurant host or front-of-house team member
• Familiarity with reservation or seating management systems
• Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent multitasking and time management skills
• Ability to work effectively with restaurant and bar staff

Pay: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 per week
