Bar Staff

Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly and reliable person to join our team on a casual, on a zero-hours basis.

This role would suit someone who is happy to jump behind the bar from time to time when we need an extra pair of hands, such as during busy periods, events, staff holidays or to cover occasional shifts.

There are no guaranteed weekly hours, so we’re looking for someone who is flexible and comfortable with occasional work as and when shifts become available.

Previous bar experience would be helpful, but the most important things are being reliable, friendly and willing to get stuck in.This role offers an excellent opportunity to work in a friendly environment, providing exceptional guest service while contributing to the vibrant atmosphere of our establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality, enjoy working in a team, and possess a positive attitude. Previous experience in restaurant or bar settings is preferred but not essential. This position is suitable for individuals aged 18 and over who thrive in busy, customer-focused environments.

Responsibilities

• Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously to guests
• Take orders accurately and process payments using the till system
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the bar and dining areas.
• Ensure adherence to food safety and hygiene standards at all times
• Upsell menu items to maximise sales opportunities
• Provide excellent guest services, addressing customer needs promptly and professionally.
• Follow all health and safety regulations diligently to ensure a safe environment for staff and guests

Skills

• Previous experience in hospitality or restaurant environments is advantageous
• Strong guest service skills with a friendly, approachable manner
• Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
• Basic maths skills for handling bills and payments accurately
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours
• Excellent organisational skills with good time management abilities
• Ability to upsell menu items confidently to enhance guest experience and sales
• Team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude
