Bar Supervisor — The Raven, Prestatyn

Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week
Availability: Evenings and weekends essential
Pay: £13.50 per hour
Location: Prestatyn — working on site

The Raven is an independent bar in Prestatyn serving cocktails, craft beer, cask ales and good company, with a varied programme of live music, quizzes and events.

We’re looking for an experienced Bar Supervisor who takes pride in great service and a well-run bar. You’ll need significant hands-on bar experience, previous supervisory experience and the confidence to support the team and take responsibility during busy shifts.

You’ll work closely with our trainee manager and owners, helping keep service friendly, efficient and consistent. This is a practical role: you’ll be behind the bar, leading by example and making sure the details are taken care of.

What you’ll be doing

• Supervising shifts and helping the team deliver welcoming, attentive service.
• Serving drinks to a consistently high standard.
• Organising tasks, breaks and handovers so shifts run smoothly.
• Keeping the bar clean, tidy, well stocked and ready for service.
• Supporting and guiding staff, including helping newer team members develop their skills.
• Following opening, closing and cash-handling procedures.
• Supporting stock checks, replenishment and deliveries, while keeping waste under control.
• Handling customer queries calmly and professionally.
• Maintaining hygiene standards and following responsible alcohol service procedures.
• Helping service run smoothly during live music, events and busy weekends.

What we’re looking for

Essential:

• Previous supervisory experience in a bar, pub or similar hospitality setting.
• Significant bar experience and confidence working through busy services.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Strong organisation, reliability and attention to detail.
• High standards of cleanliness and a tidy, methodical approach to work.
• Clear, respectful communication and the ability to give the team direction.
• A friendly manner and a genuine interest in looking after customers.
• Willingness to take responsibility and get stuck in alongside the team.

Experience with cocktails, craft beer, cask ale and cellar work would be an advantage.
