Bar Supervisor/Manager

Ballyholme Yacht Club is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Supervisor to join our team and play a key role in delivering an excellent experience for our members and guests.

This is a hands-on supervisory role for someone who enjoys leading a team, maintaining high standards, and ensuring the bar operates smoothly and efficiently.

The Role

Reporting to the Bar Convenor, you will oversee the day-to-day running of the bar, supporting the team and ensuring consistently high standards of service, cleanliness, presentation, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise, support, and motivate the bar team.
• Oversee the smooth and efficient running of daily bar operations.
• Coach and train team members and assist with onboarding new staff.
• Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, uniform, and professional standards.
• Manage stock levels, stock takes, ordering, stock rotation, and keg changes.
• Ensure the bar is fully stocked, clean, organised, and ready for service.
• Ensure opening and closing procedures and regular checks are completed correctly.
• Provide a warm, friendly, and professional service to members and guests.
• Handle age-restricted sales responsibly and deal with challenging situations professionally.
• Assist with the preparation and delivery of functions, events, and busy service periods.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, health and safety, cleanliness, and presentation.

About You

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has previous experience in a bar supervisory or management role (3+years).
• Has a good knowledge of beers, wines, and spirits and their appropriate service.
• Is confident leading, supporting, and motivating a team.
• Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Is organised, reliable, and able to remain calm in a busy environment.
• Takes pride in maintaining high standards.
• Has a positive, friendly, and professional approach.
• Is flexible and able to work Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

Working Pattern

Weekend availability is essential – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
