What they need

Description

Fancy being part of the team behind the festive buzz at Seven Dials Market? We're looking for seasonal team members to join us for our busiest and most vibrant time of the year.

Whether you're looking to gain hospitality experience, pick up new skills, or simply earn some extra money over the festive season, this is a great opportunity to join a supportive team and experience life at one of London's most exciting food and drink destinations. You'll primarily be based at Seven Dials Market, but may also have the chance to support our KERB Sports Bar team during peak trading periods and events, giving you exposure to different sides of the KERB business.

We're looking for team members who can join us for 2 months from Monday 2nd November and bring great energy throughout the festive season.

As Bar Support at Seven Dials Market by KERB, reporting to the Bar Supervisor, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding hospitality by supporting an awesome and high-performing bar team, serving a diverse selection of drinks from independent brewers and businesses. The primary responsibilities of this role will include assisting with bar opening and closing procedures and performing various behind-the-bar tasks, such as restocking the bar and preparing garnishes. Ultimately, you’ll be critical to ensuring that our guests have a memorable experience through ‘Exceptional Hospitality’.

Whilst a background in the street food scene and experience in high-volume bars or hospitality is highly desirable, the most important qualities you bring to the role are a positive/flexible attitude and excellent communication skills.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing an exceptional service to our guests and answering any queries, complaints/issues and escalate to line manager when necessary
  • Taking direction from senior members of the team, but also using your initiative to work independently and maintain a calm and professional approach in a busy environment
  • Supporting with bar set-up ready for opening - chopping fruit and garnishes, preparing juices, final cleandown
  • Putting away deliveries and restocking the bars, following the ‘first in first out’ procedure
  • Refilling ice wells and changing kegs and gas
  • Clean down and re-set for the following day, including but not limited to waste removal, washing-up, stock take, switching off electrical items, rotate stock as necessary
  • Assist with cleaning and putting away glassware
  • Maintaining clean counters and keeping bar areas tidy
  • Working closely with management team to ensure that Health & Safety standards are maintained

What you'll bring to KERB

Essential

  • A positive and flexible attitude, with the ability to think laterally and willing to problem solve
  • A love of brilliant food and drink
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent people skills, able to communicate confidently with staff, guests and traders
  • Confident in lifting beer kegs, holding trays of bottles and glassware
  • Availability to work during evenings, weekends and public holidays

Desired but not essential

  • Interest in the hospitality industry; previous entry-level experience in a bar or restaurant is not mandatory, but will be considered a plus

What you'll get by joining KERB

  • Generous F&B discount across KERB food and drinks
  • CODE app membership
  • Access to Employee Assistance Program (Hospitality Action)
  • Perks at Work discounts
  • 25 days holiday (excluding bank holidays) + birthday day off
  • London Living Wage and Disability Confident Committed employer
  • A Best Companies accredited employer
