Barback and Bartender

Job Summary

Duties

• Restock and organize bar supplies, including alcohol, mixers, glassware, and garnishes to ensure smooth service throughout the shift
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including bar cleaning, wiping down surfaces, and sanitizing equipment in compliance with food safety standards
• Assist bartenders with food preparation, garnishing drinks, and handling food service bar safety protocols
• Buss tables and clear empty glasses or dishes promptly to keep the venue tidy and inviting
• Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or crates safely and efficiently
• Operate POS systems like Aloha POS or Micros POS for cash handling, order processing, and transaction accuracy
• Support venue beverage service by preparing basic drinks under supervision and ensuring all alcohol is served responsibly

Skills

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, especially in bars or nightclubs
• Strong knowledge of bar experience including bartending techniques, cocktail preparation, and venue beverage service
• Excellent communication skills to interact positively with guests and team members
• Familiarity with food handling procedures, food industry safety standards, and alcohol service regulations
• Ability to perform cleaning tasks diligently—bar cleaning, bussing tables, and maintaining hygiene standards
• Competence in manual handling and heavy lifting to manage supplies safely
• Experience with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient cashiering and order management
• Knowledge of night club or banquet settings is a plus for adapting to various event types
• Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
• Hospitality background with a focus on customer service excellence
