Clockwork is looking for a dependable, observant barback who brings personality, moves with purpose, and takes pride in keeping things running.

Previous barback experience isn’t required. Restaurant experience is a plus, but we’re happy to train someone with a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and an eagerness to learn.

We’re a restaurant and cocktail bar in downtown Raleigh with great music, a room full of personality, and a team that cares about the details. Our Nutcracker Christmas bar makes the holiday season especially busy, and this role is essential to keeping the team ready and the guest experience smooth.

What the job involves

Keeping ice and supplies stocked, washing and polishing glassware, restocking garnishes and bottles, changing kegs, clearing glassware, removing trash, cleaning spills, and helping with closing duties.

The best barbacks stay one step ahead: noticing low ice, an empty glass rack, or a teammate who needs support and taking care of it.

• Thursday: 7 p.m.–close
• Friday: 7 p.m.–close
• Saturday: 7 p.m.–close

Room to grow

We will cross-train after 6 months in the barback position, with the opportunity to start sooner based on interest, demonstrated skills, and readiness.

Our interview process

We start with a phone screening, followed by an in-person interview with our manager and owner. The final step is a stage—a paid working trial shift where you can meet the team, experience the pace, and get a feel for Clockwork. It’s a chance for both sides to see whether we’re a good fit.
