Barback

The Barback assists bartenders with essential support in maintaining a well-stocked, clean, and efficient bar environment. The role is key in ensuring a positive guest experience by preparing and restocking supplies, maintaining bar cleanliness, and providing prompt support to bartenders during busy service times.

Key Responsibilities

• Stocking & Restocking: Maintain a fully stocked bar by ensuring supplies like glassware, ice, garnishes, mixers, and alcohol are readily available throughout service. Restock items quickly as they deplete.
• Preparation & Setup: Assist in setting up the bar at the start of the shift, including organizing equipment, arranging supplies, and preparing garnishes and other essentials.
• Cleaning & Maintenance: Keep the bar area, equipment, and storage areas clean, sanitized, and organized throughout the shift. This includes wiping down surfaces, washing and drying glassware, and sweeping/mopping floors as needed.
• Assisting Bartenders: Support bartenders by fetching and delivering drinks, ingredients, and supplies quickly. Help with simple drink preparation tasks as directed by the bartender.
• Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, reporting shortages to bartenders or the bar manager to prevent service interruptions.
• Customer Service Support: Engage with customers courteously and professionally if approached, helping create a welcoming environment while directing any specific orders or requests to the bartender.
• Adherence to Health and Safety Standards: Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations to maintain a clean and safe work environment, including proper handling and storage of all bar equipment and ingredients.
• End-of-Shift Responsibilities: Assist with closing duties by cleaning, organizing, and restocking the bar for the next day’s service.

Qualifications

• Experience: Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.

• Skills:

• Strong multitasking abilities and quick problem-solving.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

• Basic knowledge of bar equipment, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages is a plus.

• Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and handle physically demanding tasks.

• Must be comfortable working in a noisy, busy environment.

The hourly pay rate for this role is USD $ 8.00-$11.00 plus gratuities.
