Barback

We are looking for energetic, dependable Barbacks who understand that a great bar runs on teamwork, timing, and attention to detail. In this role, you’ll work closely with our bartenders to keep the bar stocked, organized, clean, and ready for service—especially during busy shifts.

At O.H.S.O., Barbacks are an important part of the guest experience. You’ll help the team stay one step ahead, jump in where needed, and keep things moving so our bartenders can provide quick, friendly, and memorable service.

Dogs are a big part of the O.H.S.O. experience, so you must enjoy having four-legged guests around!

Responsibilities

• Stock liquor, beer, wine, mixers, garnishes, ice, and other bar supplies
• Change kegs and organize keg coolers
• Maintain a clean and organized bar top throughout the shift
• Wash and restock barware and bar-specific dishes
• Assist bartenders during high-volume service
• Help keep the bar, coolers, and storage areas organized
• Interact with guests in a friendly and professional manner
• Communicate clearly with bartenders, managers, and other team members
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Help clean and break down the bar at the end of busy shifts
• Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol-service procedures
• Step in wherever needed to support the bar team

Qualifications

• Current Title 4 liquor certification
• Current Food Handler’s Card
• Positive attitude and strong commitment to teamwork
• Dependable and punctual
• Ability to stay organized and work with a sense of urgency
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to stand and remain active for six to nine hours at a time
• Ability to safely lift, move, and assist with heavy kegs
• Must love dogs

Pay

• $12.15 per hour plus pooled tips
• $15.15 per hour during training and required meetings

O.H.S.O. came to be when the three of us–Pat, Brian, and Jon–joined forces, blending our talents and shared passions. Pat had a background in the music business. Brian had years of experience in bar and restaurant management with a proven track record, creating owning and operating numerous successful bars, restaurants, and clubs. Our paths all converged while working at one of those establishments. Jon began as a door guy and quickly advanced, transitioning into roles as a bartender and manager until finally joining Brian in overseeing daily operations. Similarly, Pat made his mark as a sound guy, showcasing his talent for creating an exceptional atmosphere and booking bands while also being a musician. Driven by our shared joy of uniting people through food, drinks, and experiences, we knew we wanted to go beyond simply serving drinks. We aimed to create them and wanted our guests to be part of that magic too.
