Position Summary

From critically acclaimed Chef Sameh Wadi, Saffron is reopening this year in Northeast Minneapolis, with a menu and experience deeply rooted in Palestinian culture. The restaurant will be a celebration of culture, resilience, and hospitality: the ultimate dinner party you want to be invited to, where abundance, generosity, and connection define the experience.

We are assembling a team of the best in the industry to create an exceptional, warm, and welcoming guest experience at Saffron. We are looking for barbacks to support our bar team. The ideal candidate is diligent, detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced, high-standard setting, and has a drive to support and succeed.

Barbacks set the bar and the bartenders up for success. They are essential in bar operations, keeping the bar stocked, organized, and clean. They help to expedite the flow of drink tickets. They are not responsible for guest interaction, but they facilitate it, assisting with table maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Helping to greet guests with water and menus
• Cleaning and polishing glassware
• Bringing bus bin to dish
• Filling batch bottles
• Restocking garnishment, ice, batches, wine, beer, etc.
• Changing kegs
• Assisting with prep before and during service
• Prepping wine and beer tickets
• Pulling glassware for tickets upon request
• Helping maintain clean stations; keeping backbar tidy
• Clearing and resetting guests at the bar top
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary

Qualifications

• Ability to think and communicate clearly in high pressure situations
• Ability to follow direction
• Ability to multitask and prioritize
• Spatial awareness
• Ability to work as a team and assist bar team
• Confidence in communicating with guests
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Passion for hospitality and guest experience

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry trays up to 25–40 lbs
