Job Description

Summary of Position: With three bars at Big Chill Island House, there’s always something shaking, pouring, or popping — and we’re looking for hardworking Barbacks to help keep it all moving. Our Barbacks are the behind-the-scenes support that keeps our bartenders and bars running smoothly. You’ll keep stations stocked, replenish beer, liquor, ice, and supplies, prep garnishes, clear glassware, tackle spills, and jump in wherever needed to make sure the team has what they need to take great care of our guests. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role perfect for someone who likes to stay busy, works well as part of a team, and isn’t afraid to hustle. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for receiving, organizing, and shelving beer and liquor deliveries
• Prep freshly squeezed juice, mixes and garnishes at the prescribed par level needed for each day
• Stock cups, napkins, straws and ice at the start of day to ensure stations are ready for business
• Replace kegs and retrieve bottles from the walk-in cooler, and liquor storage
• Wash and restock speed pours containers and mixing tools as needed
• Clean spills at the bar and at customers’ tables as needed
• Monitor stations and re-stock cups, napkins, and straws and ice throughout shift as needed
• Assist the bartender with other tasks as needed
• Empty trash and recycling bins to correct bins and/or dumpsters
• Restock bottles and maintain inventory at each bar before and after each shift and as needed
• Wipe down the bar and tabletops before and after each shift and as needed
• Assist in closing duties
• Live the brand and be a brand ambassador; make decisions in the best interest of the business every time

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 21 years old
• Some relevant experience helpful
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, ability to balance personal & professional life
• Must work nights and weekends
• Professional appearance, punctual, reliable
• Hospitality soul with guest friendly demeanor
• Exhibit a sense of urgency and be able to work in very fast paced environment
• Advanced written, verbal, and non-verbal communication skills
• Well organized
• Proficiency in basic computer applications, word processing, spreadsheet, internet, POS
• Frequently walk and occasionally bend over, twist, kneel, climb, stoop and crouch
• This position requires the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and maneuver 170 pounds as well as climbing up and down stairs quite frequently during shifts

Pay & Perks:
