Job Description:

Door Management & Legal Compliance

• Inspect physical IDs with zero margin for error under Vermont Department of Liquor and Lottery (DLC) standards.
• Assess patrons at the door for pre-existing intoxication or signs of impairment; refuse entry firmly, politely, and without argument.
• Track venue capacity and manage line flow to prevent overcrowding

Floor Awareness & Crowd Safety

• Continuously scan the lounge, bar perimeter, and high-traffic zones to monitor crowd mood and volume.
• Work in sync with the bar team to cut off or safely remove visibly intoxicated patrons, ensuring staff aren't left handling difficult exits alone.
• Actively monitor restrooms and blind corners to deter illicit activity, vandalism, or property damage.
• Enforce venue house rules (zero tolerance for harassment, aggressive posturing, or outside alcohol).

Incident Management & Conflict Resolution

• Prioritize verbal de-escalation above all else. Resolve interpersonal conflicts, domestic disputes, and bar arguments calmly and decisively.
• Safely guide unruly individuals off premises without reckless physical intervention or escalating public drama.
• Document ejections, severe incidents, or formal patron exclusions/trespass warnings with precise details (time, physical description, witness names, police involvement if required).
• Assist the team with a secure, orderly last-call and room clearing at closing time.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Age: 21+ required.
• Certification: Must hold current Vermont DLL Server/Security Training or be capable of completing it prior to the first solo shift.
• Experience: Previous door, hospitality, event staff, or security experience preferred, but emotional intelligence, reliable instincts, and strong communication matter more than brute force.
• Demeanor: Confident, composed under verbal pressure, and alert. Never antagonistic or easily baited by intoxicated patrons.
• Physical Demands: Able to stand, walk stairs, and remain on your feet for 5–7 continuous hours in low-light, loud environments.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
