What they need

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, high-energy Security & Barback hybrid to keep our sports bar safe, fully stocked, and running flawlessly. In this dual role, you are the backbone of our floor operations. Half of your shift will be dedicated to ensuring a secure, welcoming environment for our guests by monitoring the door, checking IDs, and managing crowd control. The other half involves heavy lifting, constant hustle, and seamless teamwork to keep our bartenders supplied with ice, clean glassware, and fresh kegs during game-day rushes.

Key Responsibilities

Security & Guest Relations

Door Management: Verify IDs at the entrance to ensure all guests meet the legal drinking age.

Crowd Monitoring: Patrol the floor during high-volume events (playoff games) to monitor guest behavior and prevent issues before they start.

De-escalation: Professionally and calmly diffuse tense situations, intoxicated patrons, or disputes, resorting to physical intervention only as an absolute last resort and in accordance with company policy.

Access Control: Monitor entry and exit points, enforce dress codes and manage the line during peak hours.

Barback & Operational Support

Stocking: Keep the bar fully stocked with ice, liquor, beer, garnishes, and supplies throughout the shift.

Keg & Liquor Management: Safely change out heavy draft beer kegs, and fetch backup liquor from the storage room.

Glassware: Continually bus the bar top and floor, wash glassware, and return clean glasses to the bartenders.

Maintenance: Promptly clean up spills, empty trash receptacles, and maintain a clean, hazard-free environment behind the bar and on the floor.

Closing Duties: Assist the bartending team with deep cleaning, restocking for the next day, and securing the venue at the end of the night.

Qualifications & Skills

Must be at least 18 years of age.

Prior experience in hospitality, security, or a high-volume bar environment is strongly preferred.

Strong verbal communication and conflict-resolution skills; ability to remain calm under pressure.

Exceptional situational awareness and the ability to read a room.

Ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during major sporting events.

Physical Demands

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (8+ hours).

Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and maneuver heavy objects, including full beer kegs (up to 160 lbs) and cases of liquor.

Comfortable working in a loud, fast-paced, and crowded environment.

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
