Role Description The Barber role at Floyd's 99 Barbershop in Ellicott City, MD is a full-time, on-site position focused on providing exceptional grooming services to a diverse clientele. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing haircuts, beard trims, shaves, and styling services, while consulting with clients to understand their preferences and recommend suitable styles and products. The Barber maintains a clean and organized workstation, adheres to health and safety standards, and supports the overall guest experience by being punctual, professional, and service-oriented. Additional tasks include promoting Floyd’s 99 haircare products, managing appointment flow, and collaborating with team members to ensure a welcoming and efficient shop environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Barbering and Hair Cutting techniques suitable for a wide range of hair types and styles.
• Strong skills in Hair Styling and Hair Care, including finishing, maintenance, and product recommendations.
• Cosmetology or Barbering license (as required by the state of Maryland) and adherence to all local regulations.
• Excellent client communication and consultation skills, with a focus on delivering a positive, inclusive experience.
• Ability to work on-site full time, including weekends and peak hours, in a fast-paced barbershop environment.
• Experience with retail product knowledge and upselling services is beneficial.
• Reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to ongoing education and skill development.
