Duties

• Provide professional barbering services including haircuts, shaves, beard trims, and hair styling tailored to each client’s preferences
• Use various tools such as straight razors, scissors, clippers, and trimmers with precision and care
• Maintain high standards of sanitation and hygiene by thoroughly cleaning tools and workstations after each client
• Consult with clients to understand their grooming needs and recommend suitable styles or treatments
• Stay updated on the latest grooming trends, haircut techniques, and hair care products to offer innovative services
• Manage appointment scheduling using salon software like MINDBODY or similar platforms for efficient client flow
• Upsell retail products such as hair care items, styling products, or grooming accessories to enhance client satisfaction and store sales

Skills

• Proven experience working in the beauty industry with a focus on barbering or hairstyling
• Strong knowledge of hair coloring, hair extensions, hair threading, and makeup application is a plus
• Excellent communication skills to connect effectively with clients and understand their grooming goals
• Ability to perform precise haircutting techniques using scissors, clippers, straight razors, and other tools
• Familiarity with salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment management and client records
• Deep understanding of sanitation practices to ensure a safe environment for clients and staff
• Knowledge of color theory, hair care treatments, and retail math for upselling opportunities
• Ability to mentor junior team members while fostering a positive team environment
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude that makes clients feel comfortable and valued
