Barista & Café Prep Associate

Experienced Barista – Full-Time & Part-Time

Location: Washington, DC 20003 (Capitol Hill/Barracks Row)

Pay: $18.40-20/hour, including tips

Llamas’ Corner is looking for an experienced barista who enjoys great coffee, genuine hospitality, and working as part of an energetic team.

Our neighborhood café brings together specialty coffee, handcrafted boba and tea drinks, pastries, and light food in a fun and welcoming environment. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for dependable team members who can confidently work behind the bar, connect with customers, and keep things moving during busy periods.

What You’ll Do

As a member of our café team, you’ll:

• Craft espresso-based beverages, teas, and specialty drinks
• Prepare items from our signature bubble tea menu
• Serve pastries and light café food
• Welcome guests and provide friendly, attentive service
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked workspace
• Restock ingredients and supplies throughout your shift
• Assist with inventory and routine equipment care
• Become knowledgeable about our menu and make recommendations to customers
• Work collaboratively with the team to keep service efficient during peak hours

What We’re Looking For

Previous barista experience is required. We’re especially interested in candidates who are comfortable stepping into an active café environment and contributing from day one.

The ideal candidate is:

• Dependable, punctual, and professional
• Comfortable handling high-volume or fast-paced service
• Naturally friendly and confident interacting with customers
• Able to work well independently and as part of a team
• Available for weekend shifts
• Flexible with scheduling, including some opening or closing shifts
• Interested in coffee, tea, boba, and learning new menu offerings

Latte art experience is a plus.Food Handler certification is preferred, or you must be willing to obtain one.
