Barista

About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Barista to join the team at lettuce havemore joy in South Denpasar, Bali. This is a full-time position where you will be the heart of our beverage operation, crafting exceptional coffee and drinks whilst delivering outstanding customer service. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable experiences for our guests and maintaining the high standards that define our hospitality brand.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and serving a variety of espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees, and other drinks with precision and consistency
• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other bar equipment to ensure optimal performance
• Taking customer orders accurately and efficiently, whilst providing personalised recommendations
• Creating latte art and decorative drink presentations to enhance the visual appeal of beverages
• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the bar area and equipment
• Managing inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other bar supplies
• Processing payments and handling cash transactions accurately
• Engaging with customers in a friendly and professional manner, building rapport and encouraging repeat visits
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth operations during peak service times
• Following company recipes and standards to maintain consistency across all drinks

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar bar/beverage role within the hospitality industry
• Strong knowledge of different coffee types, brewing methods, and flavour profiles
• Proficiency in operating espresso machines and other professional coffee equipment
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality in every drink prepared
• Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organisational skills, particularly during busy service periods
• Reliability and punctuality with a professional attitude
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, afternoons, and weekends as required
• Passion for coffee and beverages, with a genuine desire to learn and develop expertise
• Preferred: Experience with point-of-sale systems and previous experience in Bali or similar tourist destinations
