Harvest Cafe is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista to join our team in Miri, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional coffee experiences to our valued customers. As a Barista, you will be the face of our café, crafting high-quality beverages and creating a welcoming atmosphere that keeps our guests coming back. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence in the hospitality and beverage service industry.

What you'll be doing

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and serving a variety of coffee beverages, espresso-based drinks, and other hot and cold beverages to the highest standard
• Operating and maintaining espresso machines, grinders, and other café equipment to ensure consistent quality
• Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, providing recommendations based on customer preferences
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the café, including equipment sanitation and workspace tidiness
• Managing point-of-sale systems and processing transactions securely and accurately
• Interacting with customers in a friendly, professional manner to create a positive café experience
• Restocking supplies and managing inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other beverages
• Collaborating with team members to ensure smooth café operations during peak and off-peak hours
• Adhering to food safety and health regulations at all times

What we're looking for

To succeed in this role, you should possess the following skills and experience:

• Proven experience as a Barista or in a similar café or hospitality role, demonstrating proficiency in coffee preparation
• Strong knowledge of coffee varieties, brewing methods, and beverage preparation techniques
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain a positive attitude
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality in every beverage prepared
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, multitasking and managing time effectively
• Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends as required
• Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and calculating change
• Passion for coffee and genuine enthusiasm for creating exceptional customer experiences
• Relevant certifications or barista training qualifications are preferred but not essential
