Barista

About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Barista to join the team at five30 in Kedungu, Bali. This is a full-time position where you will be at the heart of our hospitality operation, crafting exceptional coffee experiences and providing outstanding customer service. As a Barista, you will play a vital role in creating the welcoming atmosphere that defines five30, ensuring every guest leaves with a memorable experience and a perfectly prepared beverage.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages with precision, consistency and attention to detail
• Operate espresso machines and other speciality coffee equipment to professional standards
• Take customer orders efficiently and accurately, responding to specific requests and preferences
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the coffee bar area, including regular equipment cleaning and sanitisation
• Stock and manage inventory of coffee beans, milk, syrups and other beverage ingredients
• Develop and maintain strong product knowledge of our coffee offerings and menu items
• Provide friendly, attentive customer service and engage with guests in a warm and professional manner
• Work collaboratively with team members during peak service times to ensure smooth operations
• Follow health and safety regulations and company policies consistently

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Barista or in a coffee-focused hospitality environment
• Strong knowledge of espresso-based drinks and speciality coffee preparation techniques
• Proficiency in operating commercial espresso machines and coffee equipment
• Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to consistency and quality
• Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine passion for customer service
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining composure during busy periods
• Reliable, punctual and professional attitude with a positive approach to work
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends as required
• Barista certification or formal training in coffee preparation is highly desirable
• Fluency in English is essential; Indonesian language skills are an advantage
