Barista

La Casita Coffee is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to support daily coffee shop operations. This role involves welcoming customers, taking food and beverage orders, processing payments, answering basic questions about menu items, and maintaining a clean and organized service area. The ideal candidate is attentive, professional, and comfortable providing efficient service in a busy café environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, courteous, and professional service.
• Take coffee, beverage, and food orders accurately.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other approved payments.
• Answer basic questions about coffee, beverages, food items, and café offerings.
• Confirm order details and communicate customer requests clearly with baristas and team members.
• Provide receipts and assist with dine-in, pickup, and takeout orders.
• Organize completed orders and help maintain smooth customer service flow.
• Keep the register, counter, and customer-facing areas clean and organized.
• Restock cups, lids, bags, napkins, utensils, and other café supplies.
• Assist coworkers with routine coffee shop and customer-service duties.
• Support opening, closing, and other daily café responsibilities as assigned.
• Follow cash-handling, food-safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and workplace procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous cashier, café, coffee shop, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is helpful.
• Friendly, professional, and respectful approach to customers.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Comfortable learning and using POS systems.
• Good attention to detail and transaction accuracy.
• Able to stay organized while assisting multiple customers.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced coffee shop environment.
• Willingness to learn menu items and café procedures.
