Barista

Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality non-alcoholic beverages such as coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks with attention to detail and consistency.
• Serve food items and beverages efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service standards.
• Operate POS systems including Aloha POS and Micros POS to process retail sales transactions accurately.
• Handle cash register operations, process cash transactions, and give correct change with basic math skills.
• Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food handling, sanitation, and equipment cleaning to ensure food safety standards are met.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner, answer questions about menu items, and promote sales of beverages and snacks.
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure quick service without compromising quality or safety.

Requirements

• Previous barista experience or food service experience is preferred; familiarity with beverage preparation is a plus.
• Knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light loads, and perform cleaning duties regularly.
• Understanding of food safety practices, proper food handling procedures, and adherence to health regulations.
• Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume hours.
• Experience in retail sales transactions, serving, beverage service, and drink service is highly desirable.
