Barista

Kiwi & Fern is looking for friendly, reliable, and energetic Baristas to join our team!

Kiwi & Fern is a community-focused space combining specialty coffee, plants, home décor, retail, and events. Creating a friendly, welcoming environment where people feel comfortable gathering and connecting is at the heart of what we do.

We’re looking for team members who enjoy connecting with people, take pride in great service, and are excited to contribute creatively to the Kiwi & Fern experience as a whole.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, coffee, and other specialty beverages
• Provide friendly, attentive, and welcoming customer service
• Maintain consistent drink quality and presentation
• Operate the POS system and process transactions
• Keep the coffee bar, equipment, and customer areas clean and organized
• Restock ingredients and supplies as needed
• Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
• Assist with opening and closing duties
• Support the retail side of Kiwi & Fern as needed
• Help maintain a warm, inviting, and community-focused atmosphere
• Think creatively about the space and look for ways to continuously improve the customer experience throughout Kiwi & Fern
• Work together with the team to keep daily operations running smoothly

Requirements

• Previous barista, coffee shop, restaurant, or customer service experience preferred
• Friendly, dependable, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Creative, proactive, and willing to contribute ideas
• Willingness to learn and receive feedback
• Food Handler Certification required
• Availability for weekday and weekend shifts
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/carry typical café supplies

Pay: $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 18.0 – 25.0 per week
