Role Overview

Zuma Coffee is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Barista to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee beverages, maintaining consistency and cleanliness, and delivering an excellent customer experience while representing the Zuma brand professionally.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso-based beverages and other coffee and non-coffee drinks according to Zuma Coffee standards.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other bar equipment properly.
• Dial in espresso and monitor extraction to maintain consistency and quality.
• Follow established recipes, preparation procedures, and presentation standards.
• Provide friendly and professional service to customers.
• Take customer orders accurately and process transactions where required.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the coffee bar, equipment, and work area.
• Monitor coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other bar supplies and report low stock.
• Support coffee service at events, activations, and other off-site engagements when required.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures.
• Maintain proper food safety and hygiene standards.
• Work collaboratively with the wider operations and customer service teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Minimum of 1–2 years' experience as a Barista.
• Practical experience with commercial espresso machines and coffee grinders.
• Good understanding of espresso preparation, milk steaming, and basic coffee brewing methods.
• Ability to maintain consistency during high-volume service.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Neat, presentable, and professional appearance.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work weekends, public holidays, and events when required.
• Experience with specialty coffee is an advantage.
• Relevant barista training or certification is an added advantage.
