Role Summary
We are looking for vibrant team members to support our front-of-house function as the heart of our customer experience. This person will be the first friendly face that greets our guests. A successful candidate will be a strong communicator who is reliable, able to multitask, and have great attention to detail. In this energetic role, you will craft delicious coffee beverages, serve food with a smile, and create a welcoming environment for every guest. Your enthusiasm, attention to detail, and passion for coffee will help us deliver exceptional service while maintaining a clean and efficient café. Previous hospitality experience as a barista is ideal. The goal is to help preserve and enhance our reputation.

Duties

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with precision
• Take customer orders accurately using our POS system, Toast, ensuring quick and friendly service
• Handle cash transactions, process payments, and manage cash handling responsibilities with accuracy and integrity
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas and throughout the café environment
• Assist in food handling and food preparation tasks to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests, answering questions, and creating a positive atmosphere
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth operations

Requirements and Competencies

• Prior barista experience or background in the food industry is preferred
• Familiarity with POS systems is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally
• Good time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Basic math skills for retail math, cash handling, and order accuracy
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling procedures, and serving standards
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk comfortably within the café environment, and lift moderate loads when necessary
• Reliable with transportation and the ability to show up for assigned shifts on time
• Ability to read and speak English

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
