Barista

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our vibrant team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming atmosphere for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the café. Previous experience is preferred but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, serving, and customer engagement within a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks
• Ensure all food safety standards are adhered to at all times
• Handle customer orders efficiently whilst maintaining friendly and professional interactions
• Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations, including equipment and utensils
• Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required
• Manage cash register operations and process transactions accurately using the till system
• Restock supplies and ensure the café area is tidy throughout shifts
• Follow health and safety procedures diligently to create a safe environment for staff and customers

Skills

• Prior experience as a Barista or in a similar customer service role is advantageous
• Knowledge of food safety standards and protocols
• Experience in serving customers with professionalism and courtesy
• Ability to perform food preparation tasks efficiently under pressure
• Good basic maths skills for handling transactions and cash management
• Strong time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods
• Excellent communication skills with a friendly demeanour to enhance customer experience
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
