Job Summary

17 Hands Coffee is seeking a friendly, dependable, and passionate Barista to join the coffee shop team. The ideal candidate will prepare high-quality coffee and specialty beverages, welcome guests, take orders, handle payments, maintain a clean coffee bar, and support smooth daily café operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare espresso, brewed coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to café standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other coffee equipment safely.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, presentation, and portion standards.
• Answer questions about menu items and assist guests with beverage selections.
• Operate the POS system and process cash, card, and other payments accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming coffee bar and service area.
• Clean and sanitize coffee equipment, counters, utensils, and workstations.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, food items, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Monitor supplies and communicate low-stock items to management.
• Assist team members during busy service periods.
• Assist with opening, closing, and daily café duties.
• Handle guest requests and concerns in a polite and professional manner.
• Perform additional responsibilities assigned by café management.

Requirements

• Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is preferred but not required.
• Basic knowledge of coffee and espresso beverage preparation.
• Friendly, professional, and guest-focused attitude.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow recipes and procedures.
• Basic POS and cash-handling experience is a plus.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible work ethic.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café tasks.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
