Barista

EL&N London is looking for a friendly, professional, and enthusiastic Barista to join the team. The Barista will be responsible for preparing high-quality coffee and beverages, delivering excellent customer service, maintaining presentation standards, and supporting smooth daily café operations. The ideal candidate should be passionate about hospitality, reliable, and comfortable working in a busy environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
• Prepare espresso-based coffee, specialty drinks, tea, and other beverages according to company standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, coffee brewers, and other café equipment safely.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, taste, temperature, and presentation.
• Assist customers with menu questions and product recommendations.
• Process cash and card payments accurately using the POS system.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and attractive coffee station and service area.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, packaging, and other supplies.
• Assist with food preparation and presentation when required.
• Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures at all times.
• Monitor stock levels and report supply requirements to the supervisor.
• Handle customer feedback and concerns politely and professionally.
• Support colleagues during busy periods to maintain efficient service.
• Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and restocking duties.
• Clean and maintain coffee equipment and report technical issues promptly.
• Follow proper food and beverage storage procedures.
• Help maintain a welcoming and high-quality café environment.
• Support promotional activities, seasonal products, and special events when required.
• Perform other duties related to café operations as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous barista, café, restaurant, or hospitality experience is an advantage.
• Knowledge of espresso preparation and specialty coffee is preferred.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Friendly, confident, and professional manner.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and presentation.
• Ability to multitask while maintaining service quality.
• Comfortable using POS and payment systems.
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.
• Good understanding of food hygiene and workplace safety.
• Flexible availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.

Pay: £23.00-£26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 34.0 per week
