Barista

Job Overview

We are seeking a friendly, efficient, and team-oriented Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service and preparing high-quality beverages in a fast-paced food service environment.

As a Barista, you will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and creating a welcoming experience for every customer. Previous experience as a barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required, training can be provided to the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages according to company standards
• Take customer orders efficiently while providing friendly and attentive service
• Operate POS systems, accurately and efficiently
• Process cash and other transactions accurately using basic math skills
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area, including food preparation surfaces and equipment
• Follow proper food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures at all times
• Assist with food preparation and food service tasks as needed
• Manage time effectively and serve customers promptly during busy periods
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for customers and team members
• Work collaboratively with the team to support smooth day-to-day operations

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a barista or in the food industry is preferred but not required; training will be provided
• Strong customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
• Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
• Familiarity with Micros POS is an asset
• Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong time management and organizational skills
• Familiarity with food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Previous serving experience is an asset but not required
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team
