Job Title: Barista
Department: Food & Beverage
Reports To: Restaurant Supervisor / Manager

Job Purpose:
To prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and related products while maintaining excellent customer service, cleanliness, and hygiene standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare espresso-based beverages such as espresso, americano, cappuccino, latte, and mocha.
• Prepare hot and cold beverages according to company recipes and standards.
• Operate and maintain espresso machines, grinders, blenders, and other beverage equipment.
• Grind coffee beans and ensure correct coffee dosage and extraction.
• Steam and texture milk correctly for different beverages.
• Maintain consistent taste, presentation, and portion control.
• Take customer orders accurately and process them through the POS system.
• Provide friendly and professional service to guests.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coffee station, equipment, counters, and storage areas.
• Follow proper food safety and hygiene procedures.
• Check stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other beverage supplies.
• Inform the Supervisor about low stock, damaged equipment, or maintenance requirements.
• Store ingredients properly and check expiry dates.
• Minimize product wastage and follow portion-control standards.
• Assist with opening and closing the barista station.
• Handle customer complaints professionally and escalate issues when required.
• Follow company policies, grooming standards, and operational procedures.
• Support the restaurant team during busy periods.

Requirements:

• Previous barista experience preferred.
• Good knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service.
• Ability to operate espresso machines and coffee grinders.
• Good communication and customer-service skills.
• Knowledge of hygiene and food-safety standards.
• Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Flexible to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.
