We're looking for an experienced and reliable Cover Barista to join our team at No.7 Coffee House on a flexible, zero-hours basis.

This role is ideal for someone looking for occasional shifts alongside other commitments, who can step in to cover staff holidays, sickness and busier periods.

We're after someone who can make consistently great coffee, work confidently on their own when needed, and deliver the friendly, relaxed service our regulars know and love.

The Role

• Provide flexible cover for staff holidays, sickness and additional shifts when required
• Open and close the coffee house independently when needed
• Prepare consistently excellent speciality coffee, including latte art
• Serve customers warmly and efficiently, including operating the till
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised coffee bar
• Support light food service, stock management and deliveries
• Follow opening, closing and cleaning procedures
• Keep service running smoothly during both busy and quieter periods

You'll Bring

• Previous barista experience (ideally 1–2 years in speciality coffee)
• Confidence preparing espresso-based drinks and latte art
• Reliability, punctuality and flexibility
• Ability to work independently and manage busy periods
• A friendly, approachable attitude and excellent customer service
• Right to work in the UK

Nice to Have

• Experience opening and closing a café independently

The Practical Bits

• Contract: Zero-hours, with shifts offered as and when cover is required
• Hours: No guaranteed weekly hours; shifts will vary depending on business needs and availability
• Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 7am–3pm | Saturday, 8am–1pm
• Location: No.7 Coffee House, Wellington Street, Bedford
• Start date: ASAP
• Pay: To be discussed, depending on experience
