Job Overview

The Merchant is more than a coffee shop. We are creating a gathering place—a thoughtfully curated world of exceptional coffee, beautiful food, antiques, ceramics, flowers, makers, workshops, events, and unexpected discoveries, all brought together by a genuine love of hospitality and community.

We're looking for Part-Time Baristas who are excited to help us bring that experience to life. Of course, you'll make beautiful coffee. But just as importantly, you'll welcome people through our doors, learn their names, introduce them to something they might love, tell them about what's happening this weekend, share the story behind a product, and help create the feeling that makes someone want to come back again and again.

Duties

● Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and other beverages according to The Merchant's recipes and standards.

● Learn our coffee program and develop confidence in espresso preparation, milk

steaming, drink presentation, and product knowledge.

● Take guest orders and confidently operate our GoTab POS system.

● Maintain quality and consistency throughout every shift.

● Keep the café, equipment, counters, and workstations clean, organized, stocked, and

beautiful.

● Assist with opening and closing responsibilities.

● Restock products and communicate inventory needs to management before something

runs out.

● Follow all established food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines.

Requirements

• Previous barista, restaurant, or hospitality experience is required.
• Candidates must be comfortable standing for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds.
• Weekend and flexible availability required depending on scheduling needs.
