Job Summary

Alchemist Coffee Project is seeking a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Barista to join its café team in Los Angeles. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys specialty coffee, preparing handcrafted beverages, and creating a welcoming experience for customers. The successful candidate will prepare drinks to café standards, maintain an organized coffee bar, and work closely with teammates to provide efficient service during busy periods.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Prepare espresso, lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, cold brew, tea, and specialty beverages.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and other coffee equipment safely.
• Take customer orders and process payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Explain beverage options and answer questions about ingredients and customization.
• Maintain consistent drink quality, presentation, and preparation times.
• Keep the coffee bar, counters, equipment, and customer service areas clean.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and other supplies.
• Follow food-safety, sanitation, and proper milk-storage procedures.
• Communicate with team members to coordinate orders and maintain smooth café operations.
• Assist with opening, closing, and inventory tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Interest in specialty coffee and beverage preparation.
• Previous barista, café, or restaurant experience is preferred but not required.
• Willingness to learn espresso preparation, recipes, and equipment operation.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail, cleanliness, and consistency.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Availability for morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as scheduled.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and perform routine café duties.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
