Barista

Job Summary

The Barista & Café Associate is responsible for the daily operations of the café located inside a retail store. The role includes preparing coffee, beverages, and food items; taking and processing customer orders and payments; assisting customers; maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the café; and ensuring that products and services meet company standards.

The ideal candidate is customer-focused, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and perform various tasks to support the smooth operation of the café.

Job Description

1. Beverage and Food Preparation

• Prepare coffee, espresso-based beverages, non-coffee drinks, and other menu items according to established recipes and company standards.
• Prepare and assemble sandwiches, snacks, pastries, and other food items as required.
• Operate coffee machines, espresso machines, and other café equipment properly and safely.
• Ensure proper portioning, presentation, quality, and consistency of all products.
• Properly handle, store, and monitor ingredients and food supplies.

2. Cashiering and Order Processing

• Accurately receive and process customer orders using the POS or cashiering system.
• Handle cash, credit/debit cards, e-wallets, and other approved payment methods.
• Provide accurate change and issue receipts as required.
• Follow proper cash-handling procedures and maintain transaction accuracy.
• Report cash discrepancies, payment issues, or other irregularities to the immediate supervisor.

3. Customer Service

• Greet and assist customers in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
• Assist customers with menu selections, orders, product inquiries, and other basic concerns.
• Ensure customer orders are prepared and served accurately and promptly.
• Maintain a positive and welcoming customer experience.
• Handle basic customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when necessary.

4. Café Cleanliness and Food Safety

• Maintain the cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of counters, tables, equipment, storage areas, and workstations.
• Follow proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety procedures at all times.
• Clean and properly maintain café equipment and tools.
• Ensure ingredients and food products are properly stored, labeled, and handled.
• Properly dispose of waste and maintain cleanliness throughout the shift.

5. Café and Store Operations

• Assist with opening and closing procedures and other daily café operations.
• Monitor and replenish café ingredients, packaging, utensils, and other supplies as needed.
• Report inventory shortages, equipment issues, safety concerns, and other operational problems promptly.
• Coordinate with the retail store team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Perform other related café, food preparation, and store support duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High school graduate, Senior High School graduate, or college level; a degree or certificate in Hospitality Management, Food and Beverage Services, Culinary Arts, or a related field is an advantage.
• At least 6 months of experience as a barista, café associate, cashier, or in a similar role is preferred.
• Fresh graduates and applicants with relevant training or certifications are welcome to apply.
• Basic knowledge of cashiering procedures, POS systems, payment processing, and cash handling is required.
• Knowledge of coffee preparation, espresso-based beverages, and café equipment is an advantage.
• Able to perform beverage preparation, food preparation, cashiering, and basic café operations.
• Customer-oriented with good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledgeable in proper food handling, hygiene, sanitation, and food safety practices.
• Reliable, organized, attentive to detail, and committed to product quality and cleanliness.
• Willing to work in a fast-paced retail café environment.
• Flexible and willing to perform various tasks to support daily café and store operations.

Available Shifts:

• 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Pay: Php18,500.00 - Php23,000.00 per month
