What they need
Barista
The Uncommon is coming to London.
Born in the UAE and known for its striking design, specialty coffee and immersive hospitality, The Uncommon is opening its first London location in Knightsbridge.
And we’re looking for brilliant people to join our opening team.
We want Baristas who care about great coffee, love meeting people and understand that hospitality is about much more than simply taking an order.
What you’ll be doing
- Preparing consistently great coffee and drinks
- Creating warm, memorable experiences for our guests
- Learning The Uncommon’s recipes and coffee standards
- Keeping the bar organised, clean and ready for service
- Working closely with the wider team during busy services
- Taking pride in presentation and attention to detail
- Learning about our coffee, menu and brand
- Supporting opening, closing and daily cleaning procedures
- Bringing energy, personality and ideas to the team
Who we’re looking for
Previous barista experience is great, particularly within specialty coffee, but we’re also interested in people with strong hospitality experience who are excited to learn.
We’re looking for people who are:
- Warm and genuinely enjoy talking to guests
- Curious about coffee and hospitality
- Reliable and comfortable working as part of a team
- Calm when things get busy
- Proud of the quality of their work
- Open to learning and feedback
- Excited by the idea of joining a new opening
We’re not looking for identical personalities.
We want to build a team with different backgrounds, interests and experiences who can bring The Uncommon to life in London.
Why The Uncommon?
You’ll be joining from day one and helping shape the culture of our first London café.
