Barista

Michaels Coffee House is seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and customer-focused Barista to join its café team. The successful candidate will prepare high-quality coffee and specialty beverages, deliver excellent customer service, and help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, pays attention to detail, and works well in a fast-paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee, espresso, tea, and specialty beverages to a consistent standard.
• Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional service.
• Take orders accurately and process payments using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Maintain beverage quality, presentation, and preparation standards.
• Operate, clean, and maintain coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment.
• Keep counters, tables, and beverage preparation areas clean and organized.
• Monitor stock levels and replenish coffee, milk, syrups, cups, and other supplies.
• Follow food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and other daily café tasks.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure smooth service.
• Respond to customer questions and handle feedback professionally.
• Help create a positive and welcoming experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Previous barista, café, or customer-service experience is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of coffee preparation and espresso-based beverages is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Friendly, approachable, and professional attitude.
• Good attention to detail and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work efficiently during busy service periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working as part of a team.

Schedule

Full-time café schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
