Barista

Job Overview

Éclair French Café in Daybreak is looking for an experienced, dependable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced café environment, takes pride in great service, and is willing to contribute to all areas of daily café operations.

Duties

• Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, coffee, teas, and specialty mocktails.
• Confidently operate a semi-automatic espresso machine and other café equipment.
• Prepare sandwiches, soups, and other café menu items according to our recipes and standards.
• Welcome guests, take orders accurately, and provide friendly and attentive customer service.
• Maintain a clean and organized café throughout your shift.
• Complete cleaning duties in all assigned areas, including the kitchen, galley, dining areas, bathrooms, and outdoor patio.
• Restock ingredients, supplies, and service areas as needed.
• Follow recipes, portion standards, food-safety procedures, opening/closing checklists, and café policies.
• Follow Éclair French Café's dress code and employee code of conduct.
• Work collaboratively with the team during busy periods and help wherever needed.
• Assist in food handling and food preparation tasks to support overall café operations
• Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high-quality beverage preparation

Skills

• Minimum 6 months of café or barista experience.
• Experience using a semi-automatic espresso machine.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills.
• Availability for all shifts, including opening, closing, and especially weekends is required.
• Current Utah Food Handler Permit.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable, punctual, organized, and comfortable handling both customer-facing and cleaning responsibilities.

A Plus

Experience with latte art and a strong ability to upsell and recommend menu items are highly valued.

Training

New baristas complete 3 days of onsite hands-on training followed by 1 observation day. Training covers beverage preparation, food preparation, customer service, café procedures, cleaning standards, and opening/closing responsibilities.
