Job Summary

Flying M Coffee House is seeking a friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic Barista to join its downtown Boise café team. The ideal candidate enjoys preparing quality coffee, interacting with customers, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. This role is a great fit for someone who appreciates specialty coffee, takes pride in beverage presentation, and works well in a lively, community-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare espresso drinks, lattes, cappuccinos, mochas, brewed coffee, tea, and other beverages according to café standards.
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and coffee brewing equipment safely.
• Greet customers, explain menu options, and provide friendly, attentive service.
• Take orders and process cash, card, and other payments accurately.
• Maintain consistent beverage quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
• Recommend coffee drinks, pastries, and other café products when appropriate.
• Keep counters, equipment, seating areas, and service stations clean and organized.
• Restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and other supplies.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and proper food-handling procedures.
• Assist with opening and closing duties and communicate supply needs to management.

Qualifications

• Previous barista, coffee shop, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
• Interest in coffee preparation and willingness to learn espresso techniques.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Reliable attendance, punctuality, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to multitask during busy café hours.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Availability for early morning, evening, weekend, or holiday shifts as scheduled.

Flying M Coffee House is an independent coffeehouse established in 1992 and located in downtown Boise. The café is known for house-roasted coffee, scratch-made pastries, eclectic décor, and its distinctive Gift Shack. Flying M combines quality coffee with a welcoming community atmosphere, making its team an important part of the guest experience.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
