Barista

Position Overview

To craft and serve high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages in a fine dining setting while delivering an exceptional guest experience. The Barista ensures consistency, precision, and attention to detail in every drink served, reflecting the brand’s premium standards.

1. Beverage Preparation & Service:

· Prepare espresso-based drinks, pour-over, cold brew, and other specialty coffee beverages to exacting standards.

· Steam milk, froth, and create latte art with precision and consistency.

· Brew tea, infusions, and other specialty beverages according to established standards.

· Maintain in-depth knowledge of coffee beans, blends, and origins, and educate guests on flavor profiles and brewing methods.

· Serve beverages promptly and ensure presentation aligns with fine dining standards.

2. Guest Experience:

· Interact professionally and warmly with guests, providing recommendations and guidance on beverages.

· Anticipate guest preferences and tailor service to individual needs.

· Address guest queries or concerns promptly and escalate issues when necessary.

· Follow proper handling and service techniques for food and beverages, including wine service and specialty drinks.

· Collaborate with colleagues, including kitchen staff and hosts, to ensure smooth service flow.

· Ensure compliance with hygiene, health, and safety standards at all times

3. Operational Excellence:

· Operate coffee machines, grinders, and other equipment safely and efficiently.

· Monitor inventory levels, restock supplies, and place orders when required.

· Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee station and work area.

· Follow hygiene, safety, and quality standards rigorously.

· Collaborate with the kitchen and service team to ensure smooth workflow and timing.

4. Upselling & Brand Representation:

· Suggest complementary menu items and promote signature beverages to enhance guest experience.

· Uphold and represent the brand’s standards, values, and image in every guest interaction.

5. Training & Development:

• Participate in ongoing training on coffee techniques, new beverages, and service standards.
• Mentor junior baristas or service staff when required, demonstrating proper techniques and service etiquette.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

· Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a Barista in a high-end or fine dining environment.

· Certified Barista training or equivalent (SCA certification preferred).

· In-depth knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and coffee brewing techniques.

· Knowledge of coffee origins, roast profiles, and specialty drinks.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

· Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
