THE ROLE

Our Baristas are where the Summerfield feeling comes to life. You're the first smile a guest sees and the hands that build the drink they came back for. This role exists because hospitality and consistency are everything to us — a guest should get the same great drink, and the same warm welcome, whether it's a quiet Tuesday morning or a Saturday rush. You'll craft the full menu to recipe, keep the bar moving during peak hours, and help create the space guests return to. It's hands-on, fast, and genuinely craft-driven — and it's where the hospitality and leadership foundation of every Summerfield career is built.

Hospitality & Guest Experience

• Greet every guest within three seconds and deliver our 7-step guest interaction — warm, attentive, and consistent
• Confirm every order and hand off with a friendly check that everything looks right
• Read the room during peak hours — stay calm, communicate, and keep guests feeling seen even when it's busy
• Turn small mistakes into great recoveries: acknowledge, remake to standard, and keep the guest happy

Craft & Consistency

• Build every drink to our Secret Sauce recipe standards — no guessing, no freestyling, no drift
• Follow the universal build order and sweetness charts exactly, using the correct scoops, cup lines, and seal-and-shake technique
• Prepare the full menu with confidence: milk teas, fresh and fruit teas, matcha, signature snows, and seasonal drinks
• Prepare munchies and kitchen items to spec where applicable — correct timing, plating, and speed
• Run the drive-thru with clean headset etiquette where applicable — greet, confirm, and keep the lane moving

Food Safety, Cleanliness & Operations

• Follow California food-safety standards: handwashing, temperature logs, labeling and FIFO, and sanitizer checks
• Keep the store spotless to our two-step cleaning standard — between orders, throughout your shift, and at close
• Watch par levels, flag low stock, and help keep the bar ready for the next rush
• Support your teammates and communicate clearly across the floor

Ownership Mindset

• Take initiative — notice what needs doing and do it before you're asked
• Protect the guest experience and our standards as if the store were your own

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Required

• A friendly, guest-first attitude and genuine hospitality mindset
• Reliability and a real willingness to learn every part of the bar
• Ability to follow recipes and standards precisely — attention to detail matters here
• Comfort multitasking and staying composed in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
• Ability to obtain an ANAB-accredited Food Handler card within 30 days of hire
• Weekend availability

Preferred

• Prior café, boba, food service, or customer service experience
• Familiarity with Toast POS or similar systems
• Bilingual ability (a plus, not required)

SCHEDULE EXPECTATIONS

• Full-time schedules are our priority; part-time may be available based on store needs
• Flexible scheduling with a mix of shifts across the week
• Weekend and holiday availability required
• Store hours are 9:30 AM–1:00 AM; opening, mid, and closing shifts are available

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Standing, walking, and reaching for extended periods throughout a shift
• Lifting and carrying up to 30-50 lbs (ice, supplies, deliveries)
• Working in a fast-paced environment through peak windows
• Hands-on drink and food preparation, plus cleaning and sanitation tasks
