Barista – Part-Time

Job Summary: Blue Peak Coffee Co. is a boutique coffee bar located inside Sierra Blue Hotel & Swim Club in the heart of Big Bear Lake, California. We specialize in handcrafted espresso beverages, specialty coffee drinks, and a welcoming coffee experience for hotel guests, locals, and visitors.

Our menu features traditional espresso favorites alongside creative specialty beverages, including Vietnamese-inspired espresso drinks, lavender lattes, matcha, and more.

Position Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dependable Part-Time Barista to join our team.

We are looking for someone who has previous experience preparing coffee and espresso-based beverages, takes pride in the quality of their drinks, and enjoys creating a welcoming experience for every customer.

The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a boutique coffee bar environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare high-quality espresso beverages, including lattes, cappuccinos, americanos, macchiatos, and specialty drinks.
• Properly operate and maintain espresso machines, coffee grinders, and other coffee equipment.
• Ensure consistency in drink preparation, presentation, and quality.
• Provide friendly, professional, and attentive customer service.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary coffee bar.
• Follow established recipes, beverage standards, and food safety procedures.
• Handle customer orders and process payments accurately.
• Monitor inventory and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist in creating a positive and memorable experience for hotel guests and local customers.

Qualifications

• Previous barista experience is strongly preferred.
• Experience preparing espresso-based beverages and specialty coffee drinks.
• Knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and basic latte art.
• Ability to operate professional espresso machines and grinders.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently during busy periods.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Strong attention to cleanliness, organization, and beverage presentation.
• Availability to work part-time shifts, including weekends.
