Barista Shift Leader

Job Overview

Duties

• Supervise daily café operations, ensuring efficient service during your shift
• Lead and motivate the barista team to deliver high-quality coffee, beverages, and food items
• Prepare non-alcoholic beverages with precision, maintaining consistency and quality
• Process retail sales transactions accurately using POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and sanitation standards
• Support cash handling procedures, including processing cash transactions and balancing registers
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries promptly and professionally
• Assist in training new team members on food safety, beverage preparation, and POS operations
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and health standards at all times

Requirements

• Proven experience as a barista with strong knowledge of coffee preparation and beverage service
• Previous food service or retail sales experience preferred, with a focus on customer interaction
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is highly desirable
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately and efficiently
• Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy shifts
• Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures
• Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude toward teamwork
• Basic math skills for cash handling and transaction processing
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift supplies, and perform cleaning duties as needed
