Barista Shift Leader

Job Summary

As a Barista Shift Leader, you will be the energetic and organized face of our café, inspiring your team to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining smooth daily operations. You will lead by example, ensuring that every beverage is crafted with passion and precision, and that the café environment remains welcoming, clean, and efficient. Duties

• Supervise daily café operations, ensuring high standards of customer service, food safety, and cleanliness are maintained throughout each shift
• Lead and motivate team members to deliver outstanding beverage and food service, including non-alcoholic beverage preparation and drink service
• Assist with training staff on POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions and cash handling procedures
• Oversee food handling and preparation processes to ensure compliance with food safety regulations
• Process cash transactions accurately, including processing payments via POS systems and managing cash register operations
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace by executing routine cleaning duties and adhering to health standards
• Support sales goals by engaging customers in friendly conversation, upselling beverages, and promoting café offerings

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service or café environments with barista experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle retail sales transactions confidently
• Basic math skills for cash handling, processing transactions, and inventory management
• Ability to manage time effectively during busy shifts while maintaining attention to detail
• Knowledge of food safety practices, including proper food handling and preparation techniques
• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a café or retail setting is a plus
• Strong communication skills with a positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
